YouTube
This is a site in which teachers and students can view read alouds and different content related videos. Teachers can also create a free YouTube channel and upload their own read alouds/content related videos. An example of a read aloud uploaded to YouTube will be included in the Reading Activities subpage.

Screen Cast O'Matic
Screen Cast O'Matic is a site that allows users to record and share their screens. This would be beneficial for going through power point presentations and other activities that may be assigned to students. This site is completely free and very easy to use. An example video using Screen Cast O'Matic will be included in the Reading Activities subpage.
3.
Education Galaxy
Education Galaxy is a site in which teachers can assign articles and books to students to read. The books can be read to the students by using computer audio. The students can then play educational games based on the assigned readings. Teachers can also assign quizzes for students. This site is free for teachers to sign up but there are some features that can be purchased after you have an account.
4.
Packets
For students who may have little to no access to internet teachers may find it beneficial to send packets to their house. These packets can include copies of any book pages being read, worksheets, quizzes, reading logs, etc. Once students have completed the packet they can then send it back to either the school or the teacher. It may be best to send a week's worth of work per packet.

Book Mail
Along with the weekly packets sent to students who do not have internet access the teacher may find it beneficial to send a few books to each students. This would be beneficial to students because it would let them know that their teacher is thinking about them during the period of distance learning. The teacher can also base the weekly work around the books that are sent to the students.

Scholastic News Subscription
Teachers may find it beneficial to sign up for a Scholastic News Magazine Subscription. The teacher can share the different pages of the magazine with students. Using these magazines can help students hone in on their comprehension skills and allow them to have something to read each day.
7.
Book Sharing
Using Zoom a teacher may find it beneficial to have one student per day/week do a read aloud to the class. The book can be the choice of the student. This not allow helps students to stay focused on reading but also allows them to be able to share some of their favorite books with their peers.
